Terry O'Neill is borne in London, East End 1938. 14 years old he finished school. However Terry had bigger ideas and had set his sights on studying with the great drummers on America's East Coast. Pure coincidences started his carrier as a photographer. One day he took a picture of home secretary Rab Butler sleeping at the airport. The picture was snapped up by the Sunday Dispatch, who put it on their front page the next day, and the Editor offered him a part-time job as a photographer.

Terry’s style was more natural and spontaneous than the prevailing style of the 50s and made him soon very popular. His works was published in newspapers like Look, Life, Vogue, Paris Match and Rolling Stone. Terry's success as a photographer went hand in hand with the camaraderie of creative London in the 1960s and 1970s. Friendships with stars like Richard Burton and Michael Caine meant that he could bring people together for photographic shoots. When Elizabeth Taylor wanted to meet David Bowie, Terry brought them together for a series of classic pictures. He spent his evenings at the Ad Lib Club in London where actors, musicians, models, designers and photographers could meet and exchange ideas over dinner and drinks.

During the 1980s Terry became the photographer of choice for Hollywood, and his commissions from the time are nothing short of a catalogue of global superstardom. His marriage with Faye Dunaway helped contributing to his international success, especially in USA from the 1970s and after. Throughout the years he has photographed many great names from the world of celebrity, including Rod Stewart, Bridgitte Bardot, Frank Sinatra, David Bowie, Audrey Hepburn, Clint Eastwood, Sean Connery, Paul Newman, Kate Moss, Elvis Presley and bands such as The Who, The Rolling Stones, U2 and The Beatles.
